Look at each of these photos and consider this: no two show the same trees. This 10 acres is covered with hardwoods—different species of Oak, and that most Texas of a tree, the Cedar Elm (not a Cedar at all, all Elm)—which might be hard to see in the photos, crowded so much by Junipers, but that’s the rough part: clear the Junipers and still have a forest, but a park-like one with Oaks and Elms in abundance.

This is what many of us want: the piece of land—our slice of Heaven—that’s both refuge and catalyst. Something not isolated but, rather, insulated, from the neighbors, the outside world.
